The McDowell's tragically lost their daughter Alysha in a motor vehicle accident on the 15th September 2008. When faced with question of donation it was made so much easier as Bruce and Karen had discussed organ and tissue donation with their daughter just two weeks before the accident. The McDowell's are currently working with the local council to create a space the will bring awareness to organ and tissue donation-a celebration of life, and provide a place for reflection for donor families.
