The Grape Adventure
The Grape Adventure
Saturday June 5, 2010
Hunter Valley, NSW
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to put together a team for a very special cause, and have a fantastic time doing it.
It will be an adventure challenge like no other – an opportunity for teams of work colleagues, family and friends to come together and compete in a one day running, mountain bike riding (MTB) and kayak paddling course followed by lunch after the race.
All set amongst roads, waterways and beautiful vineyards in the magnificent Hunter Valley. A gala dinner will also take place to celebrate completing the challenge!
The Cause
Entering a team in the Grape Adventure will raise funds for Transplant Australia, which helps to increase awareness about organ and tissue donation and care for transplant recipients, donor families and living donors. Funds will be used in our recovery program and to provide education to recipients about medication compliance, living with a transplant and nutrition and exercise information.
The Benefit
The working world can be so busy, we hardly get the chance to notice the flowers let alone stop and sniff them. But every now and then we promise ourselves that as of tomorrow we’ll take the time to look up; to pause and appreciate how lucky we are; to enjoy everything to the fullest and to live every day with an intoxicating ‘joie de vivre’. This is what this whole experience is about. The ability to pause and appreciate the simple things – and in the process to raise money and awareness, an important step in helping change the lives of others who are less fortunate.
