London, Canada, a leader in transplant surgery for more than 30 years, hosted the 2005 World Transplant Games. Our goal was to make these the best Games ever and to boost the organ donation rate in Canada.
The XV World Transplant Games was a nine day series of athletic events which took place from July16 to 24, 2005.
Sports at the XV World Transplant Games in London included; 5 Pin Bowling, 10 Pin Bowling, Badminton, Cycling, Golf, Lawn Bowls, Mini Marathon, Rowing, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track and Field and Volleyball.
The athletes, managers and supporters of the 2005 World Transplant Games enjoyed their stay at the athletes village on the campus of the University of Western Ontario.
A goal of the London Games is to encourage the participation of transplant children
Transplant Australia is supporting the establishment of a Foundation to raise money for the late V8 Supercar driver Ashley Cooper's partner Casey and their young children Ella and Bailey.
