Past Australian Transplant Games
The first Australian Transplant Games was held in Melbourne, Victoria in 1988 where a total of 150 participants competed in sports and recreational events. Since then the Australian Transplant Games has been held biennially with the most recent Games being held in Geelong, Victoria in 2006.
The Australian Transplant Games promote awareness of organ and tissue donation and have resulted in an increased organ donation rate in each year the Games are held.
