WA Branch
Transplant Australia WA offers the opportunity for members to participate in social and recreational activities including picnics, theatre, live shows and movie outings, to represent WA at the Australian Transplant Games.
Meetings are held every 4 to 6 weeks at the Belmont Sports & Recreation Club, corner of Abernethy Road and Keane Street in Cloverdale WA. TA WA invite all those awaiting transplant and receiving dialysis treatment, recipients, living donors, family members of deceased donors and supporters to become involved. We encourages prospective members who may be interested in learning more about Transplant Australia before becoming members to come along to a meeting or special events on a "come and try" basis.
The TA WA elected executives and committee have representatives from each membership group including donor family (metropolitan & regional), living donor, transplant recipient and juniors. This ensures that the needs of all membership groups are catered for.
We have a particularly active living donor membership base. The living donors have their own annual social events to give members in similar situation the opportunity to share experiences.
Since a dedicated support group for children was established within Transplant Australia, many successful events have been held and TA WA specifically focuses on children and their families, in developing their profile and generating community and corporate support. TA Kids WA aims to improve the publics attitude to organ donation so that ultimately, children and adults alike will benefit from receiving a transplant sooner.
Transplant Australia WA Branch invites you to contact the executive members at any time for information. We look forward to welcoming new members.
Membership fees: $15 Individual, $25 a family.
Living Donors and Family Members of Deceased Donors have honourary membership.
The transplant recipient spouse of a living donor has a membership fee of $10.00.
