The Transplant Australia SA / NT branch members include transplant recipients, those awaiting a transplant, those undergoing dialysis treatment, family members of deceased donors, living donors, and supporters including the indigenous community from outlying areas. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at Cystic Fibrosis South Australia in Sturt Street Adelaide. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings.
SA / NT also organise a number of social, sporting and ceremonial events throughout the year, which include barbeques, tennis, bowling tournaments, dinners, breakfasts, and two very important annual ceremonies. These are: The Rose Planting Ceremony in the Gift of Life Garden on Port Road, Hindmarsh, run in conjunction with the South Australia Organ Donation Agency; and The Organ Donor Thanksgiving Service. These events are held to honour donor families and pay tribute to all organ and tissue donors.
SA / NT greatly value children and we support transplant recipient children and their siblings and work closely with the Little Livers Group, individuals and their families touched by organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
Our regular state newsletters, available in full colour and downloadable from this site, are a great source of information on branch matters. A number of our committee and members give freely of their time for public speaking on all aspects of organ and tissue donation and transplantation and associated issues. We can be called upon if you require a speaker for the media, health care industry, students, and the general community.
We pay respect to the privilege of being a transplant recipient and we value donors above all else.
Membership fees: $15 Individual, $25 a family.
Living Donors and Family Members of Deceased Donors have honorary membership.
The transplant recipient spouse of a living donor has a membership fee of $10.00.
