NSW Branch
The NSW branch of Transplant Australia has members from all corners of NSW who meet for recreational, sporting and social events.
TA NSW meets about once a month at venues in areas including eastern and western Sydney, the Blue Mountains and at least once a year in Wollongong. These meetings normally incorporate a "Competition and Development" day where activities include ten pin bowling, lawn bowls, golf, archery, eight ball, petanque and a picnic day. Each activity is run to encourage participation. Existing skill levels are not necessary - we always welcome newcomers and beginners.
Dooleys Lidcombe Catholic Club, in Sydney’s western suburbs, proudly supports the branch and we have adopted the Club as our own Club House. The NSW branch also stages the annual fundraising Miracle Dinner at Dooleys to assist transplant recipients to attend the Australian and/or World Transplant Games. This helps to maintain the good standing of Australia as a world leader in Transplant Sports. Many NSW members have attended both the Australian and World Transplant Games and find them a wonderful and worthwhile experience. The Games are a special time to demonstrate the high quality of life that is achieved following a transplant.
At each of these events run by TA NSW, people are able to chat with others who have been through similar circumstances, including family members of deceased donors, living donors, transplant recipients and supporters.
Membership fees: $15 Individual, $25 a family.
Living Donors and Family Members of Deceased Donors have honorary membership.
