Australian Red Cross Blood Service – LifeGift
LifeGift is responsible for the coordination of all organ donations in NSW and ACT. This website offers donor families, organ recipients, individuals on the organ transplant registry, health professionals and the general public, the ability to access information to better understand the system and processes of organ donation and transplantation.
Victoria
Australian Red Cross Blood Service – LifeGift
LifeGift is the organ donation agency that organises and coordinates all aspects of the organ and tissue donation process within Victoria and Tasmania. Managed by the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, LifeGift works with hospitals throughout Victoria and Tasmania to organise the donation and retrieval of organs and tissue for transplantation.
Queensland
Queenslanders Donate
Queenslanders Donate is a division of Queensland Health and aims to provide a structured and consistent approach to organ and tissue donation, aimed at ensuring the key elements of Australians Donate (the National Program established by the Australian Health Ministers - AHMAC) are met in Queensland. Queenslanders Donate has been developed following wide consultation with experts in the field of organ and tissue donation and transplantation. The program combines the strengths of other organ/tissue donation models but takes into account the vast geographical area of the State.
South Australia
South Australian Organ Donation Agency
The SA Organ Donation Agency is a division of the SA Department of Human Services. The aim is to increase the number of organ donations in SA giving more people access to transplantation as a treatment for their organ failure.This site contains information about where to access grief support.
Western Australia
DonateWest
DonateWest is the statewide agency that promotes organ and tissue donation across Western Australia. DonateWest became fully operational in July 2000, and is funded by the Department of Health, Western Australia. It works with all hospitals within WA and liaises with hospitals and agencies interstate.

New South Wales
Lions NSW Eye Bank
The Lions NSW Eye Bank is the centre for collection, storage, preparation and distribution of corneas in NSW and the ACT. It also assists research into eye disease. It is responsible for the education of medical staff and the community, liaising with relatives to provide information and advice to those considering donation.
Victoria/Tasmania
Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria
Established in 1989, the Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria is the largest tissue bank in Australia as well as being the only one of its kind, processing and distributing multiple types of tissue from the one facility. It is a not-for-profit organisation which provides a central facility for the acquisition, processing, storage and distribution of tissue for transplantation.
Lions Corneal Donation Service
The Lions Eye Donation Service a joint venture between the Lions Clubs of Victoria and Southern New South Wales, the University of Melbourne and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. It routinely provides corneas for transplantation across Victoria and Tasmania.
Queensland
Queensland Bone Bank
The Queensland Bone Bank is a non-profit organisation; partial funding is received from the Queensland Health through the Princess Alexandra Hospital. In addition to being responsible for retrieving and distributing bone tissue throughout Queensland and Australia, the Bank conducts studies to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of tissue transplants.
Queensland Eye Bank
The Queensland Eye Bank, based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, is one of the most efficient and productive Eye Banks in Australia. The Queensland Eye Bank retrieves eye tissue from people who have consented to donation and have died in a hospital.

Eye Bank of South Australia
At Flinders Medical Centre, current eye research is improving the success rate of corneal transplantation and the Ophthalmic Day Surgery Unit enables some patients to have surgery without hospitalisation.
The Perth Bone & Tissue Bank (PBTB) is an independent, incorporated, charitable organisation which retrieves donated bone, and after extensive testing and processing, it is stored awaiting its use in a wide variety of orthopaedic procedures. The PBTB was incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1987 on October 13th 1992, and is the only bone bank in Western Australia.

The Foundation’s first aim is to make organ and tissue donation and awareness more prevalent in our community. By informing parents of the importance of discussing these issues with their children, should they ever be placed in the same situation as we were, with Zaidee's sudden death.

Australian Bone Morrow Registry
The ABMDR is part of a worldwide network of unrelated donor registries. It was established in 1991 as a register of people who are willing to donate their bone marrow or haemopoietic stem cells (HSC) if they are found to be a suitable match for a patient needing a bone marrow transplant.
Australian Corneal Graft Registry
The Australian Corneal Graft Registry operates an Australia-wide register of human corneal transplants.

Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN)
The Australian College of Critical Care Nurses represents over 2,000 critical care nurses nationally. Our members work across the critical care clinical spectrum - cardiothoracic and general intensive care units, emergency, coronary care, high dependency, academic and educational settings. Our College activities focus on the care of both adult and paediatric critically ill patients, and includes many clinical sub-specialities (Special Interest Groups) and professional issues (Advisory Panels).
