Vision and Objectives

Our Vision

Transplant Australia's vision is for Australia to lead the world in making organ and tissue transplantation available for all who need one - saving lives, minimising suffering and providing care and support.

Mission

Transplant Australia is a national organisation representing transplant recipients, dialysis patients, those awaiting transplants, living donors and donor families to foster longevity of donated life-giving organs and support the physical and emotional health of all recipients and donors.

Long Term Goals

  • To raise awareness of the need for organ and tissue donation in Australia;
  • To demonstrate to the public the improved quality of life and sporting prowess recipients enjoy following a transplant;
  • To provide a support and advisory service (eg medical, financial and counselling) to members;
  • To show gratitude to the families of organ and tissue donors;
  • To continually excel as a dominant nation in World Transplant Sports;
  • To encourage transplant recipients and those awaiting transplantation to participate actively in sport and recreational activities;
  • To have included in the Australian way of life that organ and tissue donation and transplantation are national cultural values; and
  • To reinforce the view that transplantation was the greatest medical beakthrough of the last century.
