2006 Geelong - Victoria

The 10th Australian Transplant Games were held in Geelong, Victoria from September 16 - 23 September, 2006.

Geelong, Victoria's largest regional city, is less than an hour from Melbourne and offers a picturesque waterfront, parks, gardens, beaches, great dining and plenty of shopping.

Geelong Grammar was the hub of the Games with registration, administration, medical information seminars and meetings being held on site. Geelong Grammar is a very prestigious school which has tremendous facilities including 20 tennis courts, five ovals and an outdoor swimming pool.

Events were held in various locations within the Geelong area.

To be eligible to compete in the Games, which consisted of 16 sporting and three recreational events, a competitor must have been on dialysis or have received one of the following transplants; kidney, heart, lung, heart-lung, liver, pancreas, corneal or bone marrow.
