2006 England
Australian Transplant Cricket Club Team 2006 and the Great Britain Transplant Cricket Club Team 2006
The ATCC and GBTCC held their second series in England in July 2006 where Australia were defending their win two years previously of the David Hookes Memorial Shield.
Five grounds were played on, Percy Main CC, Jesmond, Tynemouth CC, Monkton Combe CC and Hinton Charterhouse CC nad all were beautifully prepared and complemented each other perfectly to give the Australians a feel of an English cricket summer.
Whilst the GBTCC won the series , the camaraderie and sportsmanship made all who particpated winners.
In the words of Graham Marsh of the GBTCC " The David Hookes Memorial Shield is what brings us together and not what divides us."
The tour as a whole attracted a lot of very good publicity in the media and achieved its main objective in the promotion of organ donation.
